The experience
San Cipriano sits in a rural, practically untouched pocket of jungle where the only way in is by Brujita: a narrow wooden boat that cuts through the river. You'll ride one to enter the reserve, then meet your guide, a woman who is the only one doing this work in the area. She'll walk you through the village's 400 inhabitants, explain what they do, and point out the plants and animals around you as you move deeper into the forest.
The water is the centerpiece. You'll start with a short walk to your first contact with it: a chance to see fish, swim in deep pools and jump from rocks. From there, a longer jungle hike takes you past four separate waterfalls, each one a stop to swim or simply stand in front of. The river descent is the finale: you'll float downriver on a tire, moving at a calm pace in a safe way, no paddling required.
Lunch happens at a local restaurant in the area, where they serve typical Colombian food. Before you leave, you'll get all the photos and video the guide captured on a GoPro during the day, sent to you after the tour ends. The full day runs twelve hours from pickup to return, with travel insurance, your jacket, the entrance fee, and the Brujita transport all covered.

Is this one for you?Book this tour if you want a full day in the jungle with swimming and waterfalls as the main event, not a rushed stop between other sights. The twelve-hour commitment and the hiking between four separate falls mean you're spending real time in the water and the forest, not passing through.

Top questions
What languages is the guide in?
Live guide in English and Spanish.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
How do I get to San Cipriano from Cali?
Private transportation picks you up from your hotel in Cali and takes you to the Brujita dock. From there, you board a local wooden boat to enter the reserve and reach the village.
What are the four waterfalls like, and do I swim at each one?
The four waterfalls are part of a jungle hike where you move between them on foot. You can swim at the pools beneath them, but the choice to jump or simply wade is yours at each stop.
Is the river float safe if I'm not a strong swimmer?
The float down the river uses a tire and moves at a calm, safe pace. The guide controls the descent, so you don't need to swim or paddle. It's a relaxed way to end the day on the water.
What happens if I have mobility concerns or joint problems?
The tour involves hiking between waterfalls and swimming in pools, so moderate physical fitness is needed. It's not recommended for travelers with knee problems or spinal injuries. Discuss any concerns with the operator before booking.
Will I get photos from the tour?
Yes. The guide records the entire day on a GoPro and sends you the photos and video at the end of the tour, so you can focus on the experience rather than taking pictures yourself.
