The experience
The boat leaves Cotton Cay Pier at 4 PM sharp. You arrive by 3:45 to board. For the first 50 minutes, the pontoon cruises through White Watta Sector, where the water shifts through shades the bay is named for. A swim stop lets you drop into the water here before the boat moves on to Rose Cay, a natural aquarium where the marine life is visible from the surface. Weather permitting, you swim again. The whole route stays inside the bay, so the water stays calm and the ride stays smooth.
From 6 PM onward, the sun hits the horizon and the mood shifts. Caribbean music plays on deck, the crew keeps the energy up, and the light turns gold and then deep orange. You sail back toward the dock slowly, watching the island lights come on across the water. The tour ends at 6:30 PM, and you step off with salt in your hair and the kind of tired that comes from being on the water all afternoon.
Life jackets are provided and required. Drinks on board cost extra. Bring cash if you want anything beyond the sea breeze. The boat holds 16 people maximum, so it stays small enough that you can actually talk to the crew and the other travelers without shouting. A guide speaks both English and Spanish throughout.
