The experience
We picked up the 2025 Kawasaki Mule Pro just after breakfast, keys in hand and the sun already warming up the street outside the rental shop. The guys there handed us a map with some local tips: like which beach gets busy after lunch and where to find fresh coconut water right from a roadside stand. The UTV looked spotless, still smelling faintly of new rubber and salt air, and it started up with a quiet purr that made us want to hit every corner of San Andrés.
Driving around the island felt easy. There’s something about having your own wheels that makes you feel like a local for the day. We stopped wherever we wanted: for empanadas near La Loma, to watch kids playing soccer on a dusty field, or just to take in the view where the sea shifts from turquoise to deep blue. Our guide at pickup mentioned we could borrow an igloo cooler if we wanted cold drinks on hand. Next time I’d definitely ask for one since it got hot by midday.
The best part was not having to rush.
