The Experience

You board a 29–30 ft boat and spend the day choosing where to go. The crew knows the Rosario Islands, Cholon and Baru well enough to steer you toward what suits your mood — whether that's the party atmosphere of Cholon, where boats anchor in an inlet surrounded by restaurants and water sports, or the quieter white sand of Agua Azul and Porto Naito. Most days hold around four stops, each one a chance to swim, snorkel or just sit in the sun with the Caribbean in front of you.

The boat comes stocked with 15 kg of ice in a cooler and a crew of two — captain and skipper — who handle the navigation and the decisions about timing and conditions. You're not following a fixed itinerary; you're telling them what appeals to you and they're making it happen. Sites like the Pool, Paue, the Oceanarium and Bora Bora are all within reach, as are the longer beaches of Baru: Playa Blanca, the biggest one, has restaurants and room to anchor; Cholon draws the crowd looking for music and jet skis; Porto Naito stays quieter. The crew adapts to what you want to do and how long you want to stay in each place.

Bring your own lunch and drinks — the cooler keeps them cold. Snorkeling happens when you choose it, and the water is clear enough that you'll see why people come back. Seven to eight hours on the water means you're not rushed, and you're not following someone else's schedule.
