The experience
You arrive at your hotel with a free evening and no car: pickup and transfer to the Sea Pride facility handles the logistics. Once there, a guide runs through a short safety briefing and shows you how to manage the board. The whole setup takes minutes, and you're in the water before the light fully drains from the sky. The route follows the calm west side of the island, so the water stays flat and predictable even as you move away from shore.
As the sun drops, you paddle over water that shifts from blue to amber to black, with the sea breeze and ambient music the only sound around you. When night falls completely, the real draw emerges: the ocean itself becomes visible in ways daylight hides. Your guide stays close throughout, watching for safety and pointing out what the darkness reveals: the stars above, the marine life moving beneath the surface, the quiet that only exists when the island's daytime noise stops. The guides photograph and video the whole time, so you leave with images of yourself out there on the water.
The activity suits anyone without prior experience, including couples, families, and groups of friends. Children from age 4 can join. Younger children can ride with an adult. The 2.5-hour window, sunset through full night, is the window the operator built the experience around, and it is the only one offered.
