The Experience

We stepped out of the taxi into that thick Medellín air—warm, a little electric. I tried to order an aguardiente but totally butchered the pronunciation; Li (from our group) laughed so hard she almost dropped her empanada. There’s something about eating street food with new friends that just feels right.

We cut through Provenza next—honestly, I lost track of which club was which after Mosquito Rooftop because everything blurred into bass and colored lights. At Teatro Victoria, Camilo waved us past the line like he owned the place (VIP entry is no joke here). Inside: bodies moving everywhere, sweat and perfume mixing in the air. The DJ played some old-school salsa and even the shyest guy in our group tried dancing. I’m not sure if I’ll ever hear that song again without thinking about this night.
