The experience

The speedboat ride out to Islas del Rosario takes the place of a long, slow ferry. You leave Marina Todomar between 8:30 and 8:40 am and arrive at IBBIZA Beach Club ready to swim within an hour. The boat returns between 3:15 and 3:30 pm, getting you back to the city by 4:15 or 4:30 pm depending on the day's weather. That schedule front-loads the beach time instead of eating it up in transit.

At IBBIZA you get snorkel gear, lounge chairs, a welcome cocktail (alcoholic or not), one beer, and your choice of lunch from seven options: fried fish, the house sancocho, grilled chicken breast, vegetarian plate, pasta with vegetables and seafood, carbonara, or a children's menu. A live DJ plays throughout the day. Kayaks are available if you want to paddle out, and there are restrooms on the grounds. The only thing you'll need to arrange separately is a ticket to the natural park itself and use of the main pier, which the club does not provide.

The tour does not include a dolphin show or swimming with dolphins, though you may see marine life in the water. Food and drinks from outside are not permitted, so plan to eat from what the club offers. Bring a towel if you have one. The club does not supply them.
