The experience

Hotel pickup runs between 7:50 and 8:15 AM, and the day spans ten hours of walking through museums and neighborhoods. You'll see the Gold Museum first, then move to Fernando Botero's collection, followed by the Museum of the Emerald, where you can also buy certified stones to take home. The cable car up Cerro Monserrate is included, giving you a view across the city from above. Transport between stops happens in an air-conditioned vehicle with your guide.

La Candelaria is where the walking picks up. This colonial neighborhood holds the Plaza del Chorro de Quevedo, the founding site of Bogotá itself, alongside narrow streets, old houses, and street art. From there you move to Plaza Bolívar, the political center: the presidential residence (Casa de Nariño), the mayor's office (Palacio de Liévano), the Prime Cathedral, and the Palace of Justice all face the same square. Your guide navigates the stops and explains what you're standing in front of.

Entry to all four museums and the cable car are covered in the price. The Museum of the Emerald also functions as a jeweler, so if you want to buy a stone certified for export, that transaction happens separately. Bring comfortable shoes: the displacement during the whole tour is on foot.
