Step-by-step itinerary
Explore French Concession and Nightlife
- Meet guide and driver at hotel
- Visit Xintiandi pedestrian street
- Dine at Lost Heaven Silk Road restaurant
- Enjoy rooftop bar with Shanghai views
- Return to hotel
The experience
Your guide meets you at your hotel lobby at the time you choose and drives you first to Xintiandi, the heart of the former French Concession. The neighborhood is built around Shanghai's signature "Shikumen" architecture (old alley houses that blend Chinese and Western design), and the pedestrian streets are lined with galleries, boutiques and restaurants. You walk through the area with your guide, who points out how the colonial-era buildings sit alongside modern storefronts, and the whole district glows after dark.
Dinner happens at Lost Heaven restaurant on the Bund, where the menu traces the Silk Road from Xi'an through Gansu to Yunnan. Your guide recommends dishes based on what you like, and the kitchen handles vegetarian requests if you flag them at booking. The restaurant sits on the Bund itself, so you're already positioned to see the river and the skyline. After you eat, the tour either ends and you head back to your hotel, or you add the bar stop.
If you choose the bar option, your guide takes you to a rooftop venue where you get one drink included (wine, cocktail, beer or soft drink), and watch the city's major landmarks light up across the Huangpu River: the Peace Hotel, Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center, Shanghai Tower and Jinmao Tower all visible from above. After that, your driver brings you back to your hotel downtown.

Is this one for you?Book the dinner-only version if you want to end the evening after eating and return to your hotel early, or add the bar stop to stay out longer and see Shanghai's skyline fully lit. The rooftop bar is where the city's illuminated landmarks come into view, so the extra hour is worth it if you're not tired and want to linger over a drink.
