The experience
Xiaoyushan Park sits on a hilltop with classical Chinese gardens, pavilions and tree-lined corridors. Your guide leads you to the summit for a panoramic view of the city. From there you walk past Yinbinguan, the former German Governor's residence, then move into Badaguan Scenic Area, where foreign villas and quiet paths reveal the architecture that shaped Qingdao during its colonial period. St. Michael's Cathedral, built in 1932 and designed in Gothic and Romanesque style, stands as the largest Gothic structure in the city.
Zhanqiao Pier is Qingdao's symbolic landmark. You walk to Huilan Pavilion at the bridge end with your guide. The final stop is the Tsingtao Beer Museum, built inside the original 1903 German brewery buildings. The museum displays vintage brewing equipment and the century-old heritage of China's first modern brewery. You sample freshly brewed beer straight from the brewery and have the option to buy souvenirs before returning to your hotel or the International Port.
Your private air-conditioned vehicle picks you up from your Qingdao hotel or the International Port and returns you there at the end of the day. The guide speaks English and Chinese, and the tour is paced to suit all physical fitness levels.
