The experience

You pick the shape of your evening when you book: start with hot springs and soak in separate indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna and steam rooms filled with mineral-rich water, or board a river cruise and watch Shanghai's skyline light up. The TV Tower, Shanghai Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center, Jinmao Tower and the Custom House all glowing against the night. Your guide meets you at your hotel lobby and handles the transport to whichever you chose.

After the first activity, you move to dinner. Hot pot is one of China's most famous dishes, and your guide walks you through the meat, fish and vegetable options as you cook them in the broth at your table. You eat together with your guide, who can advise on combinations and help with any dietary needs you flagged at booking. The evening ends with a return to your hotel.
