The experience
The day starts with pickup from your accommodation between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m., then heads into Torres del Paine National Park to stop at its main viewpoints. You'll see the Cuernos del Paine (the Horns), the turquoise water of Lake Pehoé, and panoramic views from Nordenskjöld, Sarmiento, and Amarga. The route also passes Salto Grande waterfall and reaches the Grey Glacier, where you can see the enormous ice formations up close. Each stop includes a short, easy walk if weather and conditions allow.
Before returning to Puerto Natales, the tour visits the Milodon Cave, a nature reserve built around a large cavern that dates back to the Ice Age. The cave is the day's historical anchor: a place where giant ground sloths once lived thousands of years ago. The return to town happens in the late afternoon (around 5 to 6 p.m. in summer, 4 to 5 p.m. in winter), leaving the evening free.
A live guide in English or Spanish travels with the group throughout the day. Bring warm layers, comfortable shoes, sunscreen, and a camera. The landscape changes with the weather, and the light on the lakes and glacier shifts constantly. The route includes some unpaved roads, and a few viewpoints are accessible only from the vehicle.
