The experience
The day starts at the San Antonio cruise terminal with pickup by your private driver and guide. From there, the route splits based on your choice at checkout: you can head straight to Valparaíso and Viña del Mar, or add the Casablanca Valley wine stop on the way to Santiago. Either way, you're in a single vehicle with no other travelers, no schedule tied to a group, and no waiting for strangers.
In Valparaíso, the guide takes you through the Historic Quarter: the cobblestone streets and hillside neighborhoods that made the city a UNESCO site. You'll ride the Concepción funicular up to Paseo Gervasoni, where the panoramic views open across the bay, and walk through Paseo Galvez with its famous Red Door and street murals. The guide shows you Plaza Sotomayor, where the Monument to the Heroes of the Pacific stands surrounded by heritage buildings, and points out the fishing boats and sea lions at Caleta Portales. In Viña del Mar, you see the Moai statue at the Fonck Museum, Palacio Carrasco's bronze Rodin sculpture, Wulff Castle, and the sea lion colony at Reñaca Beach.
If you choose the Premium Casablanca Experience at checkout, the route includes a one-hour drive through the Curacavi Valley into wine country. At Casas del Bosque, you tour the winery's facilities and taste five of their wines (Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah and others) before heading to Santiago. The alternative is Bodegas RE, a boutique winery with a focus on innovative blends. Lunch is on your own at one of three restaurants the guide recommends in Valparaíso. The tour does not include it. The day ends with drop-off at your Santiago hotel or airport, depending on which option you booked.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Spanish.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What's included in the price of this tour?
The tour includes private guidance in English or Spanish, the Concepción funicular tickets, bottled water, coffee or tea, WiFi on board, luggage storage during the day, and hotel or airport drop-off in Santiago. Lunch and gratuities are not included. If you book the Premium Casablanca Experience, the wine tasting at the winery is included. Lunch at the winery is separate.
Can I add a wine tasting to this tour?
Yes. At checkout, you can select the Premium Casablanca Experience, which adds a stop at either Casas del Bosque or Bodegas RE in Casablanca Valley. The winery tour and tasting of five wines are included in that option. Without it, the tour covers Valparaíso and Viña del Mar only and ends in Santiago.
How long does the tour take?
The tour runs 8 to 9 hours from pickup at San Antonio terminal. If you add the Casablanca Valley wine stop, the drive to Santiago takes longer because of the inland route through the vineyards, but the total time remains within that range depending on how long you spend at each stop.
What happens if I'm arriving from Santiago instead of San Antonio?
You can book the reverse option at checkout: From Santiago to San Antonio. Your guide picks you up at your Santiago hotel or airport, takes you through Valparaíso and Viña del Mar, and drops you at the San Antonio cruise terminal. The wine tasting can still be added if you choose the Premium Casablanca Experience.
Will I be sharing the vehicle or guide with other travelers?
No. This is a 100% private tour. Your vehicle and guide are reserved for your party only. The operator never merges bookings or adds other travelers to your group.
What's the Concepción funicular, and is it included?
The Concepción funicular, or Ascensor Concepción, is Valparaíso's oldest cable car railway. It carries you up the hillside to Paseo Gervasoni, where you can walk through cafes, shops, and street art with panoramic views of the city and bay. Tickets are included in the tour price.
