From there, the tour moves into Chinatown (Canada's oldest, and the second oldest in North America), where your guide brings the neighbourhood's history to life as you walk the streets. Then comes the part people come for: Craigdarroch Castle, the 30-room Scottish Baronial mansion built in 1890 for coal baron Robert Dunsmuir. The exterior tour is included. If you want to step inside the 25,000 square feet of stained-glass windows and lavish 1890s furnishings, you can buy tickets on site. Fair warning: the castle sits two blocks from Fort Street, and you may need to walk that distance depending on local traffic closures in the residential neighbourhood.
