Outdoor Spy Adventure: Explore Vancouver’s Landmarks on Foot

Step into the shoes of a secret agent and explore downtown Vancouver in a whole new way. Solve puzzles, race the clock, and see the city’s top sights—no screens required.

experience

What’s the experience like?

Right from the start, you’re greeted by a “Special Agent” in a trench coat—yes, really. They hand you a locked box, a real map (not some flimsy printout), and a spy kit with odd little tools that make you feel like you’re in a movie. Downtown Vancouver’s always buzzing, but when you’re on a secret mission, you notice things differently. The hum of the SkyTrain overhead, the smell of roasted coffee drifting from a corner café—suddenly, every detail feels like a clue.

We darted through the Sinclair Centre’s old stone arches, past folks sipping bubble tea and street musicians playing near the Bay. Our guide had warned us: “Don’t get distracted by the shops—time’s ticking!” At the Vancouver Art Gallery plaza, we paused to crack a code while skateboarders zipped by and a protest was setting up (apparently that’s pretty common here). The clues led us past the Bill Reid Gallery—if you’ve never seen Haida art up close, it’s worth a peek, even if you’re racing the clock.

The best part? No phones or apps—just your team, your wits, and the city itself. We got a bit lost near the underground mall (the escalator hum is weirdly loud down there), but that’s half the fun. At the end, we compared scores and got our team certificate—plus a sticker I stuck right on my water bottle. If you’re looking for something different in Vancouver that mixes sightseeing with a bit of adrenaline, this is it.
