A guided bicycle tour of Toronto covering the Distillery District, Harbourfront Centre, Music Garden and Toronto Islands with a local guide leading small groups. You ride the full route—roughly three hours—and stop to learn the history and current life of each area, including Ireland Park and its views of the Toronto skyline. The guide adapts the route based on what interests you, and the bike is included.

Step-by-step itinerary

Guided bike tour of Toronto sights

  • Ride through Distillery District
  • Pass Harbourfront Centre
  • Ride along Music Garden path
  • Bike from West to East Toronto Island
  • Stop at Ireland Park

The Experience

The tour starts in the Distillery District, where you ride through the restored Victorian-era buildings and learn how the area has shifted from industrial production to shops, galleries and restaurants. From there you head to the Harbourfront, winding through the waterfront so you get a sense of the layout and feel confident returning on your own later. The guide points out the Harbourfront Centre and explains what draws people there, then you ride along the Music Garden path to take in its design before heading toward the Islands.

The Islands leg is the heart of the day. You cross to the Toronto Islands and ride from the west side to the east, with brief stops along the way to catch your breath and absorb the quieter pace. One stop is Ireland Park, where seven sculptures commemorate the Irish Famine migrants who arrived in Toronto between 1846 and 1849—some 38,500 people landed in a city of just 20,000 at the time. The park also opens up views of the Toronto skyline across the water, a moment to step off the bike and look back at the city you've been riding through.

Groups stay small, which means the guide can answer questions as they come up and shift the route if something catches your interest. You'll need at least a moderate level of fitness to keep pace, and riders must be at least 13 years old. The bike is provided; public transit is nearby if you need it before or after the tour.
