The experience

You arrive 45 minutes early for equipment fitting and a short boating safety course, then head out onto the St. Lawrence River with your guide leading the way. Each rider pilots their own jet ski, so you're in control of the speed and direction while following the guide's route. The tour passes under four of Montreal's most recognizable bridges (the Concorde, Victoria, Champlain, and Jacques-Cartier) each one framing a different angle of the city's skyline as the sun sets.

About halfway through, the guide signals for free riding time. For 15 to 20 minutes, you can throttle up and ride at your own pace while staying within the designated area. This is where the rush comes in: the freedom to feel the jet ski's power without the structure of the guided route. On the return, the Jacques-Cartier Bridge is lit up in vibrant colors against the darkening sky, turning the final stretch into something worth slowing down for.

The Sea-Doo GTX 130 Pro handles smoothly even for first-timers, and the guide stays close enough to watch for safety without hovering. Life jacket, gasoline, liability insurance, and all required gear are included. Riders must be at least 16 with a valid driver's license, and a security deposit is required (refunded if the jet ski returns undamaged). Groups larger than 10 need to book at least two days ahead.

Is this one for you?The guide leads in English or French, so you can follow the route and safety cues in whichever language suits you. This works for anyone 16 and up with a valid license who wants to pilot their own jet ski rather than ride as a passenger: couples, solo travelers, and groups of friends all find their own rhythm in the free riding time.
