Board at Maligne Lake and ride back through the Rockies

A one-way shuttle from Maligne Lake back to Jasper operated by Maligne Adventures, departing on a fixed schedule from the P1 Bus Loading Zone. The journey takes 60–90 minutes depending on your selected drop-off location in Jasper or Whistlers Campground, traveling the scenic Maligne Lake Road through Jasper National Park. Arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled departure. Shuttles cannot wait for late guests.

The experience

How do you get back from Maligne Lake without a car? The shuttle departs from Parking Lot 1 at the corner beside the Maligne Lake Cruise check-in pathway, so you step off the dock and walk straight to the loading zone. You'll need to arrive at least 10 minutes early: the shuttle runs on a fixed schedule and won't hold for stragglers. Once aboard the comfortable Maligne Adventures bus, you settle in for the scenic return along Maligne Lake Road as it winds through Jasper National Park back toward town.

The ride takes roughly an hour to an hour and a half, depending on which drop-off you've chosen in Jasper or at Whistlers Campground. There's no cellular service at Maligne Lake, so if you're planning to hike or spend time on the water before heading back, you'll want to give yourself enough buffer to return to the pickup zone without rushing. If you're taking the Maligne Lake Cruise, book a shuttle departure at least 45 minutes after your cruise's scheduled return time, since cruises occasionally run up to 30 minutes late.

This booking covers the return leg only. If you need transportation from Jasper to Maligne Lake as well, you'll book that as a separate shuttle (the "Jasper to Maligne Lake Shuttle"). Infants and small children can travel in a pram or stroller, and foldable walkers can be stowed in the vehicle. You'll need to be able to climb three steps to board, with assistance available if needed.
