A fruit spirit tasting at Velvet Orchards in Lac-St-Jean pairs four Nordic berry spirits made on-site with a self-guided audio tour that walks you through the company's history, orchards, processing and tasting in four short capsules. The tasting happens on an outdoor terrace facing the lake, with indoor seating available if weather turns. Minimum age is 18.

The experience

The tasting starts on the terrace with four Nordic berry spirits of your choice, each one made directly from the orchard's own fruit. The audio tour runs through QR codes you scan at your own pace, so you move between the four capsules (history, orchards, processing, tasting) whenever you're ready. The setup means you're not following a guide's schedule. You taste, listen, and move through the story on your own time.

Bad weather doesn't stop it: the boutique bar indoors has seating and the same view of Lac-St-Jean. The whole experience runs about an hour, though there's no pressure to rush through the audio or the tasting. You get to linger on whichever spirit or story detail holds your attention.
