The experience
The solar-powered pedal bus does the heavy lifting: two electric motors powered by solar-charged batteries mean you can pedal, coast or simply sit back and watch Halifax slide past. The vehicle is fully covered with rain guards, so it runs in any weather. You'll roll along the Halifax Waterfront Boardwalk, see the historic properties that line the water, and pass the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, the HMCS Sackville docked at the harbour, and the C.S.S. Acadia. The route takes in the Harbourside Market at Pier 21 and brings you to Halifax Citadel, the 1869 hilltop fort that overlooks the harbour.
Three stops break up the ride: Sapori Italian Street Food, The Seaport Social, and Garrison's Brewery (subject to availability, with possible substitutions). At each one, you get access to food and drink specials reserved for tour riders. The stops are built in so you can grab something to eat or drink without the tour feeling rushed. Arrive 20 minutes before your departure time. The tour runs at 11:00am, 2:00pm, or 5:00pm depending on which time slot you book.
What’s included
- Private transportation aboard the solar-powered pedal bus.
