The experience
The tour leaves Calgary in the morning and heads into Banff National Park with a guide who knows the region firsthand. Rather than a quick stop-and-shoot itinerary, the pace lets you linger at each viewpoint: Lake Louise with its turquoise water framed by snow-capped peaks, the suspended catwalks of Johnston Canyon where you walk alongside waterfalls and a turquoise creek, or Moraine Lake's glacial waters and the dramatic backdrop of the Valley of the Ten Peaks (open June through October). The route also takes in Bow Falls along the Bow River, Vermilion Lakes where Mount Rundle reflects in still water, and Castle Mountain's rugged profile as you travel through the scenic drive.
In Banff Town, you get a relaxed lunch break with time to explore Banff Avenue's shops and choose from restaurants with mountain views or fireside seating. The guide handles the driving and route planning. You bring a camera and comfortable walking shoes for the short walks at each stop. Bottled water is provided throughout the day. Groups stay small, which means the guide can offer wildlife-spotting tips and photography assistance tailored to what you're seeing in real time.
Pickup is available from Calgary, Canmore or Banff depending on which option you choose at checkout. The full day runs 8 to 10 hours including travel time and rest stops. An email with specific pickup details and timing arrives before your departure date.

Is this one for you?Choose your departure point (Calgary, Canmore or Banff) based on where you're staying, since pickup times adjust to each location. Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What's the difference between Moraine Lake and Johnston Canyon on this tour?
Moraine Lake is included June 1st through October 15th and is known for its vivid turquoise waters backed by the Valley of the Ten Peaks. Johnston Canyon replaces it in winter and shoulder seasons, where you walk suspended catwalks alongside waterfalls and a turquoise creek. Both are scenic stops. The season determines which one you visit.
How much walking is involved in this tour?
The itinerary includes short walks at each stop rather than long hikes. You'll stroll the suspended catwalks at Johnston Canyon or walk around the viewpoints at Lake Louise and other stops, but the tour is designed for all fitness levels and is not recommended only for travelers with poor cardiovascular health.
What should I bring or wear?
Comfortable walking shoes are essential for the short walks at each stop. Dress in layers since mountain weather changes quickly. Bottled water is provided. Bring a camera for the many photo opportunities. If you have luggage or extra equipment, inquire about space when you book.
Can I choose which departure point works best for my schedule?
Yes, you pick either Calgary, Canmore or Banff as your departure location at checkout, and pickup times vary based on which meeting point you select. You'll receive an email with the exact time for your chosen location before the tour date.
Is lunch included in the tour price?
Lunch is not included, but the tour includes a relaxed break in Banff Town where you can choose from a range of restaurants, from cozy bistros to spots with mountain-view patios. You have time to eat and explore the town's shops during this stop.
