Jump, slide and rappel through a canyon most people never reach

Canyoning the Negovanka River near Emmen is a five-hour guided experience where you rappel down waterfalls, jump into pools and swim through rock crevices in a remote canyon. The operator provides all equipment, safety training, private transport from camp and an English-speaking guide. Coffee or tea starts the morning before you walk to the canyon entrance.

The experience

The day begins at the camp with hot tea or coffee, then a walk to where the Negovanka canyon starts. Once you enter, you move through the water using a mix of techniques: you'll jump into pools, slide down natural rock chutes, swim across deeper sections and rappel down the Momin skok waterfall using the ropes and harnesses the guide sets. The canyon itself is the instruction: each section builds on what you learned in the safety training near the cave of Emen before you started, so you move at a pace that matches what you've already practiced.

Full canyoning equipment comes with the booking: helmet, neoprene suit, harness, seat and ropes. The guide stays with the group throughout, managing the rope systems and coaching you through each rappel and jump. Private transport is included, so you travel without a shared van, and if you want to stay overnight at the camp after the canyon, that's an option you can arrange when you book.

What’s included

  • Private transport to and from the canyon.
  • full canyoning equipment including helmet, neoprene suit, harness, seat and ropes.
  • safety training and guide instruction in English.
  • coffee and tea at the start of the day.
  • optional overnight tenting at the camp if you choose to stay.

Is this one for you?The canyon demands a moderate level of fitness and comfort with water entry, jumping and rappelling, so this suits someone who wants an active day in a remote place, not a gentle walk. The five-hour timeframe is concentrated and physical, which is what makes the remote canyon reachable in a single morning or afternoon.
