The minibus pulls away from the office at Gazi Husrevbegova 75 at 8am, and you're handed a cold bottle of water before the engine even settles. You see it from multiple angles: from the bridge itself, from the riverbank, from the Old Town streets that wind around it. The UNESCO World Heritage site includes the Crooked Bridge (built in 1558 as a trial run for Stari Most), a 1618 mosque with a painted dome and colored-glass windows, and the First Hamam, all within walking distance. The Old Bazaar is still there, narrow and busy and smelling like coffee and grilled meat.
