The experience
Rainbow Reef sits in shallow to moderate depths off Rose Island with multicolored corals, sponges and sea fans in turquoise water. The reef teems with tropical fish and eagle rays. Visibility is often superb. You snorkel the reef first, then move to Green Cay where sea turtles roam freely in crystal-clear water among vibrant coral and rock formations. Every swim is different because the turtles come and go on their own schedule.
After the reef stops, the boat heads to Rose Island Beach Bar on shore. You can swim with friendly pigs in the shallows, kayak or paddleboard in calm water, bounce on a water trampoline, and climb the observation tower for views across the island. Lunch and drinks are available at the bar. Bring your own meal if you prefer. The group stays small enough that a guide can watch the water and answer questions throughout the day.
Snorkeling gear, bottled water, orange and apple juice, and snacks come with the booking. A live guide speaks English, Spanish or French and handles the safety briefing before you enter the water. Hotel pickup is included, and the whole day runs about four hours from start to finish.

Is this one for you? This is a shared snorkeling activity with a guide leading the group through two reef stops and then to the beach bar for water play and lunch. It suits families and mixed-ability groups because the reefs are shallow enough for beginners and the beach activities don't require swimming skill. You can paddleboard, kayak or just wade with the pigs instead.
