Step-by-step itinerary
Island hopping with animal encounters
- Visit swimming pigs on Atholl Island
- Enjoy lunch at floating bar on Rose Island
- Snorkel with fish and turtles at Turtle Cay
The experience
The boat is a 40-foot power vessel that leaves from New Providence and heads first to Athol Island, where the swimming pigs wade into the shallows to be fed and photographed. This is the stop most people come for. The pigs are accustomed to visitors and the water is calm enough for the interaction to happen quickly. After you've spent time there, the boat moves to Rose Island, where lunch and drinks are served at a floating bar and grill. Cold water and sodas come with the trip. Beer is available for a small extra charge.
The final stop is Turtle Cay, a small uninhabited island where the snorkeling happens. The reef here holds tropical fish and sea turtles, and the water is the turquoise the description promises. Paddle boards are included if you want to explore the shallows without snorkeling gear. The whole day runs four hours from start to finish, which means the boat is moving between stops rather than lingering at any one place for hours.
Bring your own sunscreen and towels. The operator provides water and lunch but not those two essentials. A guide who speaks your language is on board to point out what you're seeing and manage the group's time at each stop. Check in 30 minutes before departure.
What’s included

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish, French, Italian and Chinese.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (4 to 12 years); Infant (under 4): free.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What are the swimming pigs like on Athol Island?
The pigs on Athol Island are accustomed to visitors and wade into shallow water to be fed. You can photograph them and spend time in the water with them during the stop, though the visit is part of a full day that includes two other destinations.
Can I snorkel at every stop on this trip?
Snorkeling happens at Turtle Cay, the final stop. Athol Island is for swimming and feeding the pigs in shallow water, and Rose Island is where lunch is served at the floating bar. Paddle boards are available at Turtle Cay if you prefer not to snorkel.
Is lunch included, and what if I have dietary needs?
Lunch is included and served at the floating bar and grill on Rose Island. Cold water and sodas come with the trip. Beer is optional for an extra fee. Bring any snacks or items for specific dietary needs, as the operator does not detail menu options.
How long is the boat ride between stops?
The entire trip is 4 hours from check-in to return, which includes time at three stops and travel between them. The boat moves at a steady pace, so no single stop lasts more than an hour or so.
What should I bring on this snorkeling trip?
Bring sunscreen and towels. The operator does not provide them. Snorkeling gear, water, and lunch are included. Wear reef-safe sunscreen if you have it, and consider a rash guard or light shirt for sun protection in the water.
