The experience

Five hours on Pearl Island starts the moment the ferry leaves Nassau. You arrive at your reserved cabana, comfortable loungers already waiting, a cold drink in hand and a personal server ready for the day. No shared beach chairs, no crowds, no queue for lunch. Your group of up to six has the cabana to itself, and the server stays with you the whole time, keeping the drinks flowing and bringing a traditional Bahamian lunch (BBQ chicken, fish fingers, peas, rice and plantains) straight to your loungers whenever you're hungry.

The island itself is yours to move through at your own rhythm. Two white-sand beaches sit a short walk apart. The iconic Pearl Island lighthouse stands on higher ground with panoramic views over the turquoise harbour. Kayaks and stand-up paddleboards are there whenever you want them, and floating water mats let you drift on the warm water without leaving the shallows. When you're ready for something more, a guide takes you out to a vivid coral reef where stingrays and small reef sharks glide through the coral and tropical fish fill every crevice: snorkeling is included but optional, and only guests eight and older join that part.

The ferry terminal is at Paradise Island (East Dock, behind Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville), a short ride from Nassau. Check in 15 minutes before departure. Pearl Island runs on card payments only, no cash, and outside food and drinks aren't permitted, though baby food and formula are fine. Children three and under ride free. Anyone under 17 needs a paying adult with them.

What's the snorkeling like on the reef at Pearl Island?

The coral reef teems with tropical fish, stingrays and small reef sharks moving through the coral. A guide takes you out into the warm, clear water, and you'll see the marine life up close as you swim. Snorkeling is included but optional, and only guests eight years old or older can participate.

Can I stay in the cabana the whole time instead of doing water activities?

Yes. The cabana is your base for the full five hours, and everything comes to you, lunch, drinks, comfort. The kayaks, paddleboards, snorkeling and lighthouse are all there if you want them, but you're never required to leave your loungers.

What does the all-day drink package include?

The full drink package covers both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages throughout your stay. Additional drinks are available at the bar if you want something beyond the package.

How do I get to Pearl Island from Nassau?

A round-trip ferry transfer is included. You depart from the Paradise Island Ferry Terminal at East Dock (behind Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville) and return the same way. The ride across the turquoise harbour is short, and you'll check in 15 minutes before your booked departure time.

What's included in the Bahamian lunch?

Lunch is BBQ chicken, fish fingers, peas, rice and plantains, served at your cabana whenever you're ready to eat. Your personal server brings it to your loungers so you don't need to leave your spot.

What should I bring to Pearl Island?

Bring swimwear, a beach towel, sun protection, a hat and sunglasses. A spare set of clothes is useful in case you get wet. You'll need a credit or debit card for any purchases (the island is cashless), and a camera if you want photos. Photo ID is required for check-in.
