The experience
You drive the Jeep yourself, not a guide behind the wheel. The vehicle has Bluetooth and a radio player so you can add your own music, and every participant gets a headset to hear the guide throughout the tour. A cooler of bottled water sits in the vehicle to keep you hydrated during the four hours, and fuel is covered in the price. The only requirement is that you're at least 25 years old and bring a valid driver's license on the day.
The route moves through New Providence's mix of colonial history and local food culture. Queen's Staircase (the famous 66 steps carved into limestone) comes early, followed by John Watling Distillery where you learn about Caribbean rum production in the Bahamas and can buy a souvenir. At Graycliff Hotel you tour the cigar, wine and chocolate factory, then move to Tasty's Tea's for a tasting of local blends. Before reaching Arawak Cay fish market, you stop for about fifteen minutes at The New Duff to sample guava duff, the local Bahamian pastry. At Arawak Cay itself you have time to buy fresh local food. The final stop is the rum cake factory, where you learn how it's made and can purchase samples and other local goods to take home.
Pickup is included, and you choose your group size at checkout: two to three people, three to four, or five to six per Jeep. The headset system means the guide can speak to everyone at once, and the Jeep's own audio setup lets you control what plays between stops.

Is this one for you?You need to be at least 25 with a valid driver's license to operate the Jeep, so this is built for travelers who want hands-on control rather than a guided ride. The four-hour window fits the stops without rushing (distillery, cigar factory, market and two food tastings), so if you want colonial history and local food in one outing, the fixed route gets it all done.
