The experience

You meet your crew and fellow sailors at Coral Sea Marina at 2pm and set sail toward the Whitsundays. The first evening lands you at a beach anchorage where you swim, watch the sunset and graze on snacks before heading to your overnight spot. Dinner and dessert happen onboard while you get to know the other travelers. These trips draw adventurous singles, couples and groups mostly aged 18–39, though anyone young at heart is welcome. You sleep in a mixed dormitory bunk below deck with bed linen provided.

Day two is the full Whitehaven experience. Breakfast comes first, then the yacht cruises to Tongue Bay. A scenic bush-walk leads to Hill Inlet Lookout, where the swirling sands and turquoise water give you the shots everyone comes for. You then have three relaxing hours on Whitehaven Beach itself before lunch back onboard. Two snorkel stops follow (the crew picks the reefs based on conditions and what's showing that day), and once you're snorkelled out, you anchor at another beach spot for sunset snacks and your second night aboard.

The final morning starts with breakfast while you take in the scenery, then you either snorkel one more time or join a guided bush-walk on one of the islands. The yacht sails back to Airlie Beach, arriving around 11am. That afternoon is yours: the crew reserves a table at a local spot with meal deals and drink discounts if you want to keep the group going, but you're free to head back to your accommodation, freshen up, or explore the town on your own time.
