Your Team Has 50 Minutes to Save the World From a VR Room in Sydney

You and your team enter separate VR rooms wearing HTC Vive headsets and navigate five historical time periods — ancient Egypt, medieval times, and others — solving puzzles together over 40 to 50 minutes. Each player moves around their own space, searching for items and manipulating objects while communicating with teammates through headsets to crack the mission. You'll get both an in-game and real-life photo before you leave. Groups are capped at 4 players, suitable from age 8+, and located five minutes' walk from Wynyard Station in central Sydney.

The Experience

What happens when four people put on a headset and realize they can't see each other anymore, but they have to solve a puzzle together? That's the first jolt of Virtual Room — the moment you step into your own dedicated space with an HTC Vive, the Gamemaster closes the door, and suddenly you're standing in ancient Egypt or the medieval ages instead of a room on George Street in central Sydney. Your teammates are somewhere else in the building, talking through headsets, and you've got 40 to 50 minutes to figure out what they're seeing, what you're seeing, and how to piece it together before time runs out.

The setup is straightforward. You arrive at the George Street location (five minutes' walk from Wynyard Station), get briefed by the Gamemaster, and spend a few minutes in a training room getting used to the VR controls — moving around, grabbing objects, the whole thing. Then the real mission starts. Your group travels through five different time periods, and each one has puzzles and challenges that need all of you working in sync. One person might find a clue in ancient Rome while another is searching a medieval castle, and you're all calling out what you see, trying to connect the dots before the clock hits zero. It's collaborative in a way that most games aren't — you can't just wander off and solve your own thing. You have to listen, communicate, and trust that your teammates are doing the same.

The whole experience is designed for groups of 2 to 4 players, and it works for ages 8 and up, which means it lands somewhere between a kids' birthday party and a corporate team-building exercise without feeling forced into either box. No gore, no horror — just the kind of adrenaline that comes from racing against the clock with people you actually have to talk to. At the end, you get both an in-game photo (your avatar in the virtual world) and a real-life one outside the headsets, so there's proof you did this weird, immersive thing together.

If you're in Sydney and looking for something that's not a museum or a harbor walk, this sits right in the CBD and doesn't require you to book transport or figure out logistics beyond showing up. The Gamemaster handles the rest.

What’s included

Your experience includes a 40–50 minute team-based VR adventure across five historical time periods, HTC Vive headsets in your own dedicated room, a training session to get comfortable with the controls, an in-game photo taken during the mission, and a real-life photo with your team after you finish. The Gamemaster briefs your group at the start and is on hand throughout.
