The experience

The boat leaves Coral Bay and sails to two of the operator's favorite snorkeling spots on Ningaloo Reef, a 260-kilometer fringing reef that stretches along the Western Australian coast and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You spend up to an hour at each site with your own snorkeling equipment, moving through the water to encounter colorful coral, tropical fish, and the resident turtles that make this reef known. The water is clear enough that the reef's biodiversity is visible from the surface.

Lunch is served onboard (either a BBQ sausage sizzle or a vegetarian option) along with tea, coffee, and drinking water. You're welcome to bring your own food or drinks and use the cooler provided. Just let the operator know about dietary restrictions or allergies beforehand. The boat has shaded areas on deck, and you can bring your own alcohol (no red wine) if you choose, though you cannot enter the water once you've consumed any.

The half-day runs four hours total. Return bus transfer from the shop to the jetty is included, and all snorkeling equipment is provided. The boat is a custom Boomnet, and the captain and deckhand run the operation. There is no separate guide, so you navigate the reef and set your own pace underwater.

Is this one for you?Small groups work well here. The boat is not crowded, and without a guide narrating, you set your own pace underwater. This suits anyone who wants to explore the reef at their own speed rather than follow a group itinerary, and it works for all fitness levels.
