The experience
Rottnest Island's limestone foundation has been carved by Indian Ocean currents into deep crevices, caverns and swim-throughs that sit close enough to Fremantle to dive in a single day. The 68ft twin-deck catamaran leaves Fremantle at 8am, and you'll complete two boat dives before returning around 3:30pm. One air cylinder is supplied for each dive. You bring or hire a second. If you're an experienced diver traveling alone, the operator pairs you with a buddy matched on experience and equipment configuration (rebreather, twins, sidemount or single), though exact matching isn't guaranteed, so flexibility helps.
The day includes catered lunch with vegetarian and vegan options, endless tea and coffee, biscuits and lollies, and the Rottnest Island marine waters levy. Snorkellers and day-trippers are welcome aboard. You'll need Advanced certification minimum to dive. If you want a guide leading your dives, book one in advance at checkout. Bring your own gear or rent it. The operator supplies one cylinder per dive and all scuba and snorkelling equipment.
