A private picnic experience at Printhie Wines in Orange, New South Wales, where you select your own spot on the estate, enjoy a guided tasting of selected wines, and relax with a gourmet hamper filled with seasonal charcuterie, cheese, fruit and dessert. The experience lasts around two hours and includes a bottle of wine from the tasting to take with you.

The experience

You arrive at Printhie and get a map of the estate. The vineyards, apple orchards and rolling hills are yours to explore: walk the grounds until you find the picnic spot that feels right, whether that's under a tree, overlooking the vines or somewhere quieter. Once you've settled, the guided wine tasting begins with selected Printhie wines, and you learn what makes each one distinct.

The picnic hamper arrives filled with seasonal treats: charcuterie, cheese, crackers, quiche, fresh fruit and dessert, plus sparkling water. A bottle of your favourite wine from the tasting (the one you chose during the tasting) goes into the basket. You get a picnic rug, plastic stemless glassware and a tray table to set up however you like. The rest of the afternoon is yours: eat, drink, talk, sit in the quiet.

Everything supplied (the tote bag, rug, glassware and table) gets returned at the end for sustainability. The experience runs about two hours, though there's no clock pushing you out. Minimum age is 18.
