The tour starts at 1pm daily, led by a Museum guide who works through the structure itself as a text. Before the tour, you eat at the Museum Cafe with views over Lake Burley Griffin, choosing from seasonal fare and a glass of local wine, beer, or a soft drink (coffee and tea are also available). The cafe sits on the water's edge, so you're eating with the lake in front of you.

After the tour, you get a 10% voucher for the Museum Shop: a single transaction discount on full-priced items. The shop carries gifts and objects tied to Australian history and culture, each one carrying its own story. The entire experience runs three hours from start to finish. On arrival, head to the Information Hub to present your ticket and collect your voucher. Bring either a printed or electronic voucher and photo ID matching the booking name, or the Museum will charge you separately for the tour.

The Museum sits on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin in central Canberra, with public transport options nearby and wheelchair-accessible areas throughout. The cafe operates from 9am to 4:45pm daily, with food service until 2:30pm. If you have dietary requirements, let the operator know at booking and they'll arrange it. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and service animals are welcome.
