The experience
RC Homestead sits on a working hobby farm in Tropical North Queensland, and the tour is built around hands-on interaction rather than watching from a distance. You'll feed goats, sheep, pigs and smaller animals, take photos with them, and spend time asking questions of the hosts who know each animal's background. The pace is relaxed. This is a chance to slow down and connect with the animals at your own speed, not rush through a checklist of stops.
Seasonal activities add variety: bottle-feeding or milking baby goats when they're young, and collecting fresh eggs if the hens have laid that day. You'll also meet rescue animals and hear why they're at the farm, which often shifts how people think about where animals come from. The small-group format means you're not competing for the guide's attention or space to stand, so families with young children, couples and solo travellers all get a personal experience.
