The Experience

You meet at Melbourne Arts Centre with an empty stomach. The guide takes you first to a hidden lookout over the Yarra River, where you get a barista coffee and hear the stories behind the city's neighbourhoods. From there the minibus drives you to Hosier Lane, where you walk through the laneways' ever-changing street art and stop for laneway dumplings—the kind of narrow, vibrant spaces that define Melbourne's creative character.

The route then splits depending on which day you book. On Monday, Wednesday and afternoon tours, you drive through the Royal Botanic Gardens and past the Shrine of Remembrance, then visit the Royal and Block Arcades with their 19th-century mosaic floors and glass domes, tasting cheeses and local savoury delights. On Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings, you visit Queen Victoria Market instead—a working market since the 1870s—where you taste the same cheeses and savoury items. Either way, you drive past the MCG and the sporting precinct along Olympic Boulevard, then finish at Naked for Satan, a rooftop bar in Fitzroy's bohemian heart, where you choose between infused vodkas, craft beer or another local drink.
