Once you're ready, the real ride starts: a 15km route that takes you through the Surfers Paradise skyline and along the sub-tropical shores of South Stradbroke Island. The pace is yours to set. Riders who want to open the throttle can go full speed. Those who prefer to take it in can cruise and spot wildlife at a steadier clip. Either way, you're passing beaches, sandbars and islands the whole time.

The guide stays with the group throughout, and you'll have a waterproof container for your phone, keys and wallet so you don't have to worry about them in the water. Life jackets and all safety equipment are provided. The whole outing runs about 90 minutes from start to finish.

Yes. The 1km practice track is designed for first-timers to get comfortable with the controls and handling before the 15km ride begins. You'll have as much time as you need to build confidence on the practice track.

You choose your own pace. The 15km route can be ridden at full speed or at a more leisurely pace. Riders aren't locked into a single group speed, so you can go as fast or as slow as feels right for you.

What's the minimum age to ride a jet ski on this tour?

Passengers must be at least 7 years old. Drivers aged 12 to 15 can operate a jet ski with an adult on board. Drivers 16 and older can ride alone. All drivers must be able to read, write and understand English.

What happens if I have a bad back or spine issues?

This tour is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries because the jet ski motion and impact can aggravate the spine. If you have concerns about your back, check with your doctor before booking.

Will I get soaked, and what should I bring?
