The experience
The boat itself is the point here. Limo on the Water is electric and custom-built, which means it runs nearly silent and moves with a silky smoothness that lets you actually hear the water and spot wildlife instead of fighting engine noise. The guide is onboard the whole time, steering and narrating as you pass through the canals. You sit back. The boat does the work. It's particularly good if you've never been on a boat before, or if you want the experience without the roar.
The route covers what the Gold Coast is known for: the prestigious canal neighborhoods (Main Beach, Southport, Budds Beach, Paradise Waters, Surfers Paradise, Chevron and Cronin Island), the homes of the rich and famous, million-dollar boats, restaurants and helicopters. You slide under bridges like you're in Venice. Marine life shows up regularly (sea eagles, fish, pelicans), and on occasion dolphins and turtles. There are plenty of photo stops along the way.
You choose how long you want to stay on the water: 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 hours. The boat operates in all weather unless conditions are unsafe. If rain or wind makes the day unsuitable, the operator will reschedule you to another date or provide a skipper at minimal extra cost. You can bring your own food and drinks onboard, or pre-order breakfast, lunch or dinner. Pets are welcome. The boat is wheelchair accessible, and infants can travel in a pram or stroller.
