The experience

An animal keeper leads you through the sanctuary at a relaxed pace, stopping to watch the devils as they sleep, sun bake, play fight and search for food. You're close enough to see how they move and interact, and the guide gives you context for what you're watching: why they rest during the day, how they forage, what their social dynamics look like. This is not a rushed circuit. The walk follows the animals' rhythms, not a fixed route, so the experience changes depending on what the devils are doing when you arrive.

The sanctuary sits on uneven ground with some steep sections, and while most of the tour is accessible, not every part of the grounds works for wheelchairs. The staff are flexible and can adapt the route if you let them know ahead of time. Free parking is on-site. The tour runs in all weather, so bring a jacket and shoes that grip. Photography is welcome throughout. Children must be with an adult, and infants can stay in a pram or stroller for most of the walk.

Two departure times are available: 10:30 a.m. or 3:00 p.m. You'll need to get yourself to Devils at Cradle, there's no hotel pickup included, but once you're there, the guide and the animals do the rest.
