The experience

Ben Forbes brings 24 years of mountain bike racing experience to this session, and he builds the coaching around foundation skills where every rider, beginner to pro, makes the biggest gains. You'll work through bike setup and tips, staying in flow state, navigating obstacles, cornering technique, smoothness, training approaches, and the details of foot position, hand position, braking and personal riding habits. The session uses Gap Creek's skills park and trails, so you move between structured terrain and real riding to practice what you're learning.

The bike, helmet, gloves, spare tube, tire levers and pump come with you. You just need to bring yourself and show up with at least a moderate level of fitness. The meeting time is arranged by email before your session, and the park has drinking fountains and toilets on site. You'll also get free photos from the session, which is useful for tracking progress or sharing what you've learned.
