The experience
The Rafain Churrascaria Show has operated since 1959 and holds a Guinness World Record for the most national dances represented in a single dinner theater. The stage itself tells a story: shaped like an Aztec Indian face with a waterfall flowing from the nose, surrounded by flags and ornaments representing Inca and Guaraní cultures. Throughout the evening, the stage effects and live performers take you through eight countries in one night.
The meal is all-you-can-eat buffet with over 200 items: salads, typical Brazilian dishes, samples of oriental and Arabic cuisine, Italian pasta, fish, seafood and a dessert buffet. The show begins with Paraguayan music and the Indian harp, moves through Andean instruments like the charango and zampoña, then shifts to Argentine tango, Mexican mariachi, and Brazilian samba. Dancers perform with bottles balanced on their heads, and toward the end, a samba instructor invites guests to dance on stage. The finale brings out luxurious carnival costumes and a surprise: the waiters themselves join the performers in a feast that closes the show.
An air-conditioned vehicle picks you up from your Puerto Iguazú hotel and returns you after the four-hour experience. The venue is wheelchair accessible, and infants can travel in a pram or stroller with specialized infant seats available.
