The experience
Bodega Gamboa sits 65km outside Buenos Aires, a boutique winery built around native forest and vineyard views. The day starts with a welcome glass, then a guide leads you through the vineyards explaining the terroir while you taste two wines at different points. You walk a forest trail into the winery itself, seeing how the operation works before heading to Casa Gamboa restaurant.
Lunch is a three-course affair: La Picada (a spread of cured meats, cheeses, and vegetables), a main course you choose from roasted beef, smoked chicken, meat of the day, or mushroom lasagna, and then Mesa Dulce with options like glazed pecan, mascarpone cream, or sherbet. Wine pours throughout for adults over 18. Water and sodas are available for everyone. The whole experience wraps in about five hours.
If you prefer a different pace, Bodega Gamboa also runs "El Bosquecito," a guided tour that starts at 1pm with two tastings spaced along a walk through the forest and vineyard, finishing with an outdoor lunch between the vines and ending by 3:30pm. Both versions are led experiences, not self-guided, so you move as a group with the guide setting the rhythm and explaining what you're tasting and seeing.
