The experience

Each of the three days is a full excursion starting from Salta and looping back the same evening. Day one takes you to Cafayate through the Calchaquí Valley, where you'll see the rock formations and visit wineries for a tasting. Day two heads to Humahuaca to see Purmamarca's Hill of Seven Colors, the pre-Columbian fortress at Pucará de Tilcara, and the dramatic gorge called Devil's Throat. Day three crosses the Lipan slope to Salinas Grandes, Argentina's largest salt flat, passing through Purmamarca again on the way.

Hotel pickup is included from selected Salta hotels, and you travel in an air-conditioned minivan with a professional guide who speaks English, Spanish, or both.
