You’ll get up close with wildlife on Vietnam’s only river safari, watch traditional folk performances, sample local food at lunch, and have free time for games or water rides—all with easy pickup from central Da Nang.
The morning air in Da Nang’s Son Tra District felt a bit cooler than usual when we met our guide outside the Vinpearl Condotel Riverfront. Our small group piled into the van—windows slightly fogged from the AC—and set off towards Vinwonder Nam Hoi An. It’s about an hour’s drive, but honestly, it went by fast with our guide sharing stories about the region and pointing out little roadside cafés along the way. If you’re lucky, you’ll catch a glimpse of farmers working in the rice paddies as you leave the city behind.
First stop: Vinpearl River Safari. I’d never done a river safari before—here, you board a boat and drift past giraffes munching leaves and zebras grazing right by the water’s edge. The boat was quiet except for kids’ excited whispers and the occasional bird call overhead. Our guide explained how this is Vietnam’s only river-based wildlife park, which made it feel even more special. Afterward, we wandered over to the craft village area just in time for a lively folk music show—lots of bright costumes and laughter echoing through the open-air stage.
Lunch came right on time; we were all hungry after exploring. The buffet had plenty of choices (I went back for seconds on the grilled pork skewers), though in low season they sometimes switch to a set menu. In the afternoon, everyone split up to try different things—some hit up the indoor games (there are dozens), others cooled off at the waterpark slides or just strolled along Dream Avenue with its mix of old-style shopfronts and modern lights. By late afternoon, we regrouped—tired but happy—for the ride back to Da Nang. We rolled into town just as dusk settled over the Han River.
Pickup is included at Vinpearl Condotel Riverfront Da Nang (341 Tran Hung Dao). The exact time will be confirmed one day before your tour.
A buffet lunch is provided (or set menu during low season), offering both Vietnamese dishes and some international options.
Yes! There are indoor games, a waterpark area, animal encounters on the river safari, and cultural shows that kids usually enjoy.
