You’ll join your team in one of five themed escape rooms at Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach—solving puzzles, racing against the clock, laughing through mistakes. With support from a local guide and all admission included, you’ll feel both challenged and welcomed. Expect moments of teamwork that surprise you—and maybe even stick with you after you leave.
The first thing I noticed was the muffled laughter coming from behind a heavy door — you know that kind of nervous giggle when people are stumped but having fun? That’s what pulled me in at The Escape Game Myrtle Beach, right in the middle of Broadway at the Beach. We’d barely stepped inside before our guide, Jamie, grinned and handed us a mission card. She had this way of making everyone relax, like she’d seen every type of group (and meltdown) before. I picked “Timeliner: Train Through Time” because honestly, who can resist a time travel story?
We got an hour on the clock, and suddenly everything felt urgent — clues taped under tables, old keys that didn’t fit where you thought they would, weird metallic smells from props. My cousin tried to solve a cipher and muttered something about high school algebra haunting him. Jamie popped in over the intercom with a tiny hint (not too much), just enough to keep us moving without feeling dumb. I liked that she never made us feel rushed or silly for asking obvious questions.
At one point we could hear another team shouting next door — someone had apparently cracked their code and were celebrating like they’d won the lottery. It made me laugh because we were still stuck on a puzzle involving train schedules (I still think about that one). When we finally pieced it together with seconds left, there was this weird mix of relief and pride, like we’d actually done something important for an hour in Myrtle Beach.
Afterwards, Jamie took our photo (we looked both exhausted and triumphant) and recommended Yamato for dinner nearby — said it was her favorite spot after a long shift. I didn’t expect to care so much about an escape room day trip in Myrtle Beach, but honestly? It’s one of those things that stays with you longer than you think.
