You’ll get close to dolphins and turtles while snorkeling along the coastline, then kick back with a barbecue lunch right on the boat—fresh fish or chicken grilled as you watch. It’s relaxed, friendly fun with real local flavor.
The sun was barely up when we pushed off from the dock, salt in the air and that quiet buzz of everyone’s excitement. Our guide, Sefa, handed out masks and fins—nothing fancy, but they did the job. The water was warm enough to skip the wetsuit. As we drifted along the coast, I caught a whiff of charcoal from the grill stashed at the back of the boat. Someone had already started prepping for lunch.
We stopped near a patch of reef where dolphins sometimes play—Sefa said mornings are best if you want to see them up close. Sure enough, a small pod showed up, weaving through us like we were part of their game. I even spotted a turtle gliding below me, totally unfazed by our flippers splashing around. The current was gentle; you could just float and watch everything unfold beneath you.
After snorkeling, we tried our luck with some hand lines—nothing too serious, just hoping for something fresh to throw on the grill. I managed a small snapper (not going to brag), which Sefa cleaned right there while someone else reeled in a bigger one. If fishing’s not your thing, don’t worry—they always have chicken ready to go too.
Lunch was simple but honestly hit the spot: grilled fish or chicken with rice and this tangy local salad that tasted like it had lime and maybe green mango? There’s an open bar on board—cold beer or juice if you want it—and everyone just lounged around swapping stories while music played low in the background. By mid-afternoon, most of us were stretched out on deck, sun-warmed and happy.
We often spot dolphins and turtles on this route, especially in the morning—but since they’re wild animals, sightings can’t be guaranteed.
No worries! Chicken is always available as an alternative on the grill.
This trip is great for all ages who are comfortable on boats and in water. Infants need to sit on an adult’s lap for safety.
