You’ll hop between three Koh Khai Islands by speed boat—swimming with colorful fish, snorkeling over coral reefs, and relaxing on soft beaches—all just minutes from Phuket.
The morning air felt sticky as we hopped into the minibus—Phuket’s roads just waking up, scooters zipping past. Our guide, Lek, handed out cold bottled water and grinned, “Fifteen minutes to paradise.” True enough: after a quick ride to the pier and a blast of salty wind on the speed boat, we reached Khai Nai Island before I’d even finished my coffee.
Khai Nai’s sand is almost white—soft underfoot, but not too hot yet. We dropped our towels near a little beach shack selling iced tea and wandered straight into the water. Fish darted around our ankles; you barely need a mask to spot them. Lek showed us how to feed them bits of bread—suddenly there were flashes of yellow and blue everywhere. The snorkeling here isn’t deep or scary; it’s easy for anyone who can float.
Next stop: Khai Nui. Smaller, quieter. The coral reef sits close to shore—just pull on your fins and go. I saw a clownfish hiding in anemone (Lek called it “Nemo’s house”). The water was warm enough that you could stay in for ages without shivering. Last was Khai Nok Island—a bit busier with families and couples lounging under umbrellas. We grabbed some shade, watched kids chase crabs along the tide line, then took one last swim before heading back.
Yes! The trip is great for all ages—shallow waters make swimming and snorkeling easy. Specialized infant seats are available too.
No need—snorkeling equipment is provided as part of the tour.
