What’s the experience like?

Salt air hit my face as we left the harbor at Puerto Colón, the sun already warming the deck. Our skipper—Miguel, born and raised in Adeje—pointed out a pod of dolphins before we’d even finished our first glass of cava. There’s something about seeing them glide alongside the boat that makes you forget about everything else for a minute.

We drifted along the southern coast, just eleven of us stretched out on cushions or leaning over the railings. The water here is clear enough to see flashes of silver fish darting below. At one point, I caught a whiff of grilled sardines from a nearby fishing boat—reminded me how close you are to real island life out here.

After spotting a few pilot whales (they surfaced quietly, barely making a sound), we anchored in a little cove near La Caleta. Miguel handed out masks and snorkels—no pressure if you just want to float around instead. The Atlantic was cool but not cold; I could hear laughter echoing off the cliffs while I swam. Back on board, there were bowls of fresh fruit and salty nuts waiting, plus cold beer and soft drinks for anyone who wanted them.
