Get hands-on with real rock climbing by the beach—routes for every skill level, expert guidance, and time to relax with friends or family after. It’s active, social, and just plain fun.
Salt in the air, sand in your shoes, and a short stroll from the car park—this is how our morning started. The beach was still quiet, just a couple of early dog walkers and the soft sound of waves rolling in. After a five-minute walk, we reached the rock face, tucked away but close enough to hear gulls overhead.
Our guide, Mark, ran through a quick safety briefing—nothing too heavy, just enough to make us feel ready. Helmets on, harnesses checked, chalk dust on our hands. The routes looked intimidating at first, but Mark pointed out easier lines for us newbies and some trickier ones for the braver folks in our group. He showed us how to belay each other safely—honestly, that was almost as fun as climbing itself.
About halfway through, my arms were jelly, so I took a breather and watched someone else try abseiling through the cave roof. The echo inside was wild—like being inside a drum. The session flew by. When we finished, we just dropped our gear and spread out on the sand with snacks and cold drinks. Some families had even brought little BBQs, and you could smell sausages grilling nearby.
