You’ll ride an e-bike through Morocco’s Atlas Mountains with a local guide, visit Berber villages most tourists miss, and share lunch in a real family home—no crowds, just fresh air and mountain views all day.
The sun was barely up when we rolled out of Marrakech, the city still half asleep. Our driver chatted about his favorite football team as we wound our way toward Imlil Valley—the air got cooler, and you could smell wood smoke from breakfast fires in the villages we passed. Once at Imlil, our guide Youssef handed out helmets and checked everyone’s bikes. He grew up nearby and seemed to know every goat path by heart.
We started pedaling along quiet trails, passing apricot orchards and stone houses with blue doors. Kids waved from rooftops; a few sheep blocked our path for a minute (they weren’t in any hurry). The e-bikes made the climbs feel easy—even for someone like me who’s not exactly Tour de France material. Around mid-morning, we stopped at a ridge where you could see snow on Mount Toubkal in the distance. The wind smelled faintly of mint and earth.
Lunch was inside a Berber family’s home—flatbread still warm from the fire, olives, sweet mint tea poured high into little glasses. We sat on cushions by the window; honestly, I lost track of time just watching clouds drift over the peaks. Afterward, we coasted downhill through walnut groves and past tiny waterfalls that only locals seem to know about. By late afternoon, legs tired but happy, we circled back to our van for the ride home—dusty, grinning, phones full of photos.
Yes! The e-bikes make uphill sections much easier. Our guide adjusted the pace so everyone felt comfortable.

It usually takes about 90 minutes each way depending on traffic leaving the city.
