You’ll get to watch a desert sunset, taste real Moroccan food in a Berber camp, and enjoy live music—all just outside Marrakech. It’s a relaxed way to experience something different from the city.
The drive out of Marrakech is always a bit noisy—honking scooters, the smell of grilled corn from roadside stalls. But as we left the city behind, the landscape changed fast. Our driver chatted about his favorite football team while the city lights faded, and soon enough, all you could see were rocky hills and that endless open sky. The air felt cooler than I expected for early evening, almost crisp.
At camp, we were greeted with sweet mint tea and little almond pastries—still warm, actually. There was this gentle hush all around, except for a few kids laughing near the tents. As the sun started dipping low, everything turned gold and pink. Our guide, Youssef, pointed out how you could just make out the Atlas Mountains on a clear day like this.
Dinner was served inside a nomad tent lit by lanterns—simple but cozy. We had chicken tagine (they also had beef), fresh salad with tomatoes that tasted like summer, and fruit for dessert. The best part? Eating outside while listening to Berber musicians play by the fire. It’s quiet here at night; you notice every sound—the soft clink of tea glasses, someone tuning a drum. After dinner and one last glass of mint tea, we headed back to Marrakech feeling full and oddly peaceful.
Vegetarian options are available if you let us know when booking—just mention your preference so we can prepare accordingly.
